Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly

As a apart of 2nd grade stem unit, 2nd grade studied the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. While recapping the process of the life cycle students learned the anatomy of the monarch. Using watercolor paints, students painted a smooth transition of orange to yellow for the wings, and highlighted the fore wing and hind wing details using a back tempera paint for contrast.
